Mr Curry brings a taste of Japan to Brisbane CBD
Mr Curry has chosen the best time to reopen its freshly-revamped store in Brisbane’s Post Office Square.
Winter. The perfect time of year for Japanese curry – even if winter is something of an unknown concept here in Queensland.
Yoshi Takano is the Managing Director of the successful Mr Curry franchise of Japanese curry stores, with outlets in Toowong, Fortitude Valley, Sunnybank, Mt Ommaney, Sunnybank Hills and Mt Gravatt as well as its central CBD star in Post Office Square.
“We have been in Post Office Square since 2012 and we chose this location for its good foot traffic,” Mr Takano.
“We have just committed to another five years here, and it would be great to have another five years after that.
“I think the refurbishment of the centre will be excellent. Everything will be new and clean and it will bring a fresh atmosphere.”
Mr Curry reopened in May, among a host of new and existing tenancies to feature freshly-refurbished fit-outs as part of a massive makeover to modernise and freshen up the iconic retail centre.“We have lots of loyal customers who appreciate that we serve fresh, yummy food at good prices,” Mr Takano said. “People love our chicken katsu curry especially.
“Japanese curry is the most popular dish in Japan. It is loved by everyone from kids to adults, and any religion. We don’t use pork products, so it is Halal. We also have vegetarian dishes.
“We serve Genki food, which is like a Japanese energetic happy meal!”
Mr Curry Post Office Square is open Monday to Friday, 9am – 3pm.
