Chow Chow bringing Chinese and Taiwanese flavours to Post Office Square
Post Office Square will be the launch pad for new Taiwanese and Chinese eatery Chow Chow which expects to establish a long term presence in the refurbished centre.
Chow Chow has opened for business and is the first restaurant for owner James Kao.
“We think Post Office Square is an excellent location and we are so excited by the renewal project,” James explained. “The renovation looks great, and it is such a clean design.
“We are excited to be part of a new mix of shops and restaurants at the site, and hope that this will encourage many customers to come and take a look and try our food.”
James explained that the final menu was still to be set and even then, would never remain static once the restaurant is open with the best value options being sought and offered.
“We intend to have a large range of options to choose from while also revolving some menu items to ensure there is something new to try,” he said.
“We also hope that customers recognise us as good value for money. We understand how much the cost of living has increased for people over recent years and so we hope to keep our prices as low as possible to do our part.”
James, who chose the name Chow Chow as a play on the Australian slang for eating a meal, “chow down” is no stranger to the dining business having helped run the family’s restaurant in Taiwan for more than 30 years.
“Now that we have migrated to Australia, we are excited to be bringing the great flavours of Taiwan and China to the people of Brisbane and Post Office Square is the perfect place for us to do that.”
Chow Chow core trading hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm.
